Liverpool’s performances under Arne Slot during the Dutchman’s first season as head coach have been remarkable.

The Reds sit top of the Premier League and look an assured bet to claim their 20th overall top-flight title - a feat which would put them back level with Manchester United.

Slot’s men are also through to the last 16 of the Champions League where they face Paris Saint-Germain over two legs, starting this week.

Although their path to the final appears tricky, the Anfield club have got more than enough quality to match any team in Europe on current form.

Therefore fans could be forgiven for being reasonably optimistic about the remainder of the season with a prize also to be disputed in the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle later this month.

And not only will Slot add trophies to Liverpool’s prestigious roll of honour should they claim success, it would also represent a boost to the club’s finances.

Liverpool's £6m Nike bonus

Aside from the prize money for winning titles such as the Premier League and Champions League - not to mention the extensive broadcasting funds - Liverpool also stand to benefit from bonus clauses in their current kit deal with Nike.

According to the Athletic, the Reds will receive a £2 million bonus from the American sportswear manufacturer if they win the Premier League title this season.

There’s another £2m on offer for reaching the Champions League final, rising to £4m if they win the European Cup on May 31 in Munich’s Allianz Arena.

The club have been involved with Nike since 2020, when Liverpool ended their New Balance commitments, and the five-year kit deal is due to expire at the end of the season.

It is widely expected that Liverpool will soon formalise a new kit deal with Adidas, who supplied the club’s kits on two previous occasions in the past - from 1985 to 1996 and again from 2006 to 2012.

The new deal is incentivised, according to the Athletic, meaning the overall sums on offer from Adidas will depend largely on how the team does on the pitch as well their global sales.

Liverpool bank £30m per season from Nike, according to the report, “plus royalties of 20 per cent on all net sales of club merchandise.” The final total clocks in at over £60m per season.
