Ronald, the young Brazilian winger heading into his second season with Swansea, has outlined his dream to one day play for Liverpool.

In an interview for Premier League Brasil the 23-year-old described Liverpool as one of the “biggest teams in the world” and revealed he dreams of one day playing for the Reds.

The Brazilian has spent almost his entire career playing in his homeland, barring a brief loan spell in Portugal, but since January has turned out for Swansea in England’s second division.

Roanld also compared Liverpool to clubs such as Real Madrid, Barcelona and AC Milan but says he dreams of playing in the Premier League.

"Look, every player certainly dreams of playing for the biggest clubs in the world: Real Madrid, Barcelona, Liverpool, Milan, etc," he said.

"It would be a lie if I said I wouldn't like that to happen one day. The same goes for the big Brazilian clubs. But today my focus is all on Swansea, which for me is already the biggest club I've played for in my career so far."

Ronald dreams of Anfield

Ronald currently plays his football alongside former Red Joe Allen, who he describes as “a leader within the squad”. Allen made 130 appearances for Liverpool before departing in 2016.

Whilst playing for a European giant is the dream, Ronald told Premier League Brasil: “All my focus is with Swansea and next season I hope to be able to contribute a lot so that we can gain access to the [Premier League]. The whole group has this goal in mind.”

Roanld’s breakthrough season came in 22/23 whilst on loan in the Portuguese second division when he helped his team, CF Estrela Amadora, win promotion to the top tier, scoring five goals and creating two assists in the process.

The standout performance for Roanld in a Swansea shirt last season was undoubtedly a 2-1 win away at Sunderland, a game in which Ronald scored a first-half brace to secure three points for The Swans.

There are definitely no links at the moment and Ronald will have to prove himself further in Europe before they come, but the Brazilian winger may one day get to grace the pitch at Anfield, whether it’s in Liverpool red or as an away player.
