After a disastrous few weeks, Liverpool finally rediscovered some form on Sunday afternoon.

The Reds put in a commanding display during their 4-2 win over Tottenham at Anfield, even if it was a little nervy come the end of the match as Spurs clawed back two goals.

Liverpool had already guaranteed third spot in the Premier League prior to kick-off on Merseyside following Aston Villa's 1-0 defeat to Brighton earlier in the day, lifting pressure on Jurgen Klopp's players.

As a result, the Reds put in a much improved performance full of attacking flair, with the returning Mohamed Salah among those starring at Anfield.

After his touchline spat with Klopp at West Ham the week before, it was good to see Liverpool's talismanic Egyptian back to the levels we have come to expect from him.

He scored, provided an assist and his saved shot set up another as Liverpool put on a show in the final third, with Salah adding to his remarkable stats this season.

MOHAMED SALAH'S INCREDIBLE STATS

Despite recent criticism of his displays, with some supporters eager to see him leave the club this summer, Salah still remains Liverpool's best goal threat.

That's highlighted by a statistic from Opta's Michael Reid, with Salah ranking among Liverpool's greats even during one of his supposedly 'subpar' campaigns.

According to Reid, Salah currently ranks fourth for fewest minutes per goal or assist in all competitions of any Liverpool player to have produced 20+ goal contributions in a season during the Premier League era.

Salah is currently averaging a goal or assist every 78 minutes, bettered only by Philippe Coutinho in 2017/18 (75mins), Luis Suarez in 2013/14 (72mins) and Salah himself during the 2017/18 campaign (71mins).

Not only this but Salah is now the first player in Premier League history to manage ten or more goals and assists in three consecutive campaigns in the competition.

Liverpool's No.11 has 39 goals and assists in 42 appearances this season, a quite incredible tally for a player that has come under significant fire for his displays.

Despite rumours suggesting that Salah would be making the move to Saudi Arabia this summer, it appears that Liverpool are intent on keeping the forward around, with Salah having given no indication of wanting an exit.

With his contract running out in 2025 though, Liverpool and incoming manager Arne Slot have some big decisions to make this summer regarding his future.
