Mohamed Salah continues MYSTERIOUS Egypt boycott

Liverpool’s talisman Mohamed Salah has been in red-hot form this season and is one of the reasons the Reds currently sit top of the Premier League.

The Egyptian King has put in a number of impressive performances in both the league and the UEFA Champions League and he has scored six goals and produced a further five assists in his opening 10 games.

These impressive numbers led to a Player of the Month nomination in August and have shown once again how valuable an asset Salah is to Liverpool’s attack.

Salah will  be on duty with the Egyptian national team this international break and whilst he is looking to earn his 101st cap for the side, he has also carried on a mysterious streak.

Salah’s mysterious press conference boycott

A report from Kooora has confirmed that Salah once again boycotted the press conference before Egypt’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mauritania.

The report claims that the national team captain hasn’t attended a press conference for the Pharaohs since before their final group game of the Africa Cup of Nations against Cape Verde in January.

No reason has been given for the forward’s absence from media duties but he was replaced in the most recent press conference by Al Rayyan’s Mahmoud Hassan, commonly known as ‘Trezeguet’.

Salah’s contract situation

Salah being absent from media duties during the international break means we are unlikely to get any further insight from the star on what his future holds.

The 32-year-old’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season and as things stand he will be leaving Anfield on a free transfer come June.

Talks are reportedly set to take place to try and agree an extension that will keep Salah at Liverpool for a number of seasons but progress appears to be stalling.

Proposals are expected to come from a number of Saudi Pro League sides and the MLS’ newest franchise San Diego FC are also reportedly planning an ambitious attempt to sign the star.

Salah’s contract turmoil has so far not affected his performance on the pitch and fans of both Liverpool and the Egyptian national team will hope this continues and the forward can maintain his red-hot form.
