Liverpool star CALLED OUT after 'disappearing' act
Liverpool’s Luis Diaz has been in scintillating form for Arne Slot’s side this season.
The Colombian winger has 9 goals in 16 matches across all competitions so far, and has been far more clinical under Slot than he was during Jurgen Klopp’s time in charge.

He’s been his usual electric self with the ball at his feet, but it’s his goalscoring that has caught the eye for the Reds this season, culminating in his recent hattrick against Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen.
While things have been going well at club level, things haven’t been quite as plain sailing for his international side recently, with Diaz criticised after the recent loss to Darwin Nunez’s Uruguay in World Cup qualification.
CONMEBOL World Cup qualification is as hard as it gets. All 10 South American sides are placed into one group, and play each other home and away during the course of the qualifying period.
The top six teams earn a spot at the World Cup, with seventh place having to go through a playoff.
Things are incredibly tight in the group stage standings, with Colombia now level on points with Uruguay in second place, but both sides will be looking over their shoulders as they are just seven points ahead of Venezuela and Bolivia who are sitting outside the qualification spots.
Seven points sounds like a lot, but Colombia still have to play Brazil, Argentina and Venezuela away from home, in a competition where home advantage can have a massive effect on a team's performances.
It's why Colombian fans would have been desperate to get a result away to Uruguay this week. Instead, they threw away a 1-0 lead in the second half, conceding two quick-fire goals - one of which was a Davinson Sanchez own goal. Colombia then thought they had salvaged a point with an injury-time equaliser, only to throw the game away moments later to lose 3-2.
Diaz 'disappeared' against Uruguay
Colombian media and fans have turned on Diaz after the recent loss, with Liverpool's winger criticised by Redmas "for not being able to play down the left flank and for not being decisive in attack."
"The Guajiro played an important role in the first half," they continued, "but he disappeared in the second."
Fans also took to social media to express their disappointment at the result, and Diaz's performance - with one posting an image of Diaz with the message "The shirt is too big for him".
It's perhaps not a surprise then that Diaz found himself in a post-match argument with his Liverpool teammate Darwin Nunez, with both players feeling the heat from a feisty game that involved 32 fouls and plenty of late drama.
Diaz has a chance to redeem himself this week, as Colombia host Ecuador on Tuesday night. A win would calm the nerves among fans hoping to be in the USA for the next World Cup. A loss would bring Ecuador level on points with Colombia, and more trouble for Diaz.
Liverpool fans know just how good he can be, and every player has a bad game, so we believe that Diaz will brush himself down and go again as he always does.
