Why Jurgen Klopp could MISS final Anfield farewell against Wolves

The moment every Liverpool fan has been dreading for months is set to arrive on Sunday 19 May, with Jurgen Klopp taking charge of his final ever game with the Reds.

The German announced he was going to leave Liverpool in late January, a decision that still hasn't quite sunk in among the club's supporters.

Arne Slot will have the unenviable task of filling the void left by the 56-year-old, who has just two matches in the Liverpool hot seat before his time with the Reds comes to an emotional conclusion.

First up is a trip to Aston Villa next Monday, followed by a home clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers the following Sunday. There is unlikely to be a dry eye inside Anfield come the full-time whistle against the Old Gold.

However, Klopp's send-off could yet become a little complicated, and there is a chance that he isn't able to take to the touchline for his last match on Merseyside.

JURGEN KLOPP COULD MISS FINAL MATCH

As reported by the Liverpool Echo, Klopp could actually miss out on the clash with Wolves, but only if he is yellow carded during the game with Aston Villa on 13 May.

Klopp has been booked twice this term and is just one yellow away from a one-game touchline ban from the Premier League, with a caution at Villa Park meaning he would be unable to stand on the sidelines during his last Anfield adventure.

While Liverpool now have nothing to play for having secured Champions League football and third place, you can never bet against the fiery Klopp picking up a booking.

He will have to be on his absolute best behaviour in the Midlands next Monday to avoid an unfortunate Liverpool exit.

Klopp's penultimate home game in charge couldn't have gone much better, with Liverpool winning 4-2 against Tottenham on Sunday afternoon.

Goals from Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson, Cody Gakpo and Harvey Elliott guided the Reds to a first victory in two matches, even if Spurs' two second-half goals made for a slightly nervy finish to proceedings.
