Liverpool right-back Conor Bradley has revealed his hopes for the season ahead, as well as his initial thoughts on how he’s been adapting to life under new coach Arne Slot.

Journalist Declan Carr spoke with Bradley after the 21 year-old Northern Irishman completed a full 90 minutes against Las Palmas in a friendly on Sunday.

Among the topics discussed were Bradley’s incredible rise since the start of the year, as well as injury concerns and the impact of Slot’s new coaching methods and playing style.

That aforementioned rise to stardom largely came about after Trent Alexander-Arnold picked up a serious knee issue which kept him sidelined at the start of the calendar year.

Bradley came good on his known promise, appearing a total of 23 times for the Reds during the 2023/24 season and scoring a memorable goal in a 4-1 thrashing of Chelsea.

Conor Bradley ready for challenge

On competing with Alexander-Arnold, Bradley admitted: "Obviously, everyone knows how good Trent is and how good of a right-back he is but I've just got to keep working on my game and keep trying to improve myself.

"I'm still young so there's still plenty of improvements to be made, but I'm going to keep working hard and whenever I do get the chance I'm going to try and take it."

As far as him potentially feeling out of place given he's still a fairly fresh face in the Anfield dressing room, Bradley suggested that this is not an issue anymore.

"No, I feel ready. Probably at times last year I felt that but this year I've come in and I know the boys so well from last year. I'm ready to go and can't wait for the season," Bradley added.

Arne Slot's new style

After missing out on the start and finish of last season due to injury issues, keeping healthy in pre-season was of the utmost importance.

"I feel really good, really fit and raring to go for the season now. It's been a good pre-season, we've won basically every game we've played. I think that was one of my main goals in pre-season, making sure that I didn't pick up any injuries," said the youngster.

Bradley also seemed keen to press home that Slot’s style of football is different to that from which he benefitted when debuting in Jürgen Klopp’s final season.

"There's new ideas and stuff like that. I think it suits me as well so I've really enjoyed it and it's been a good start," he stated.

"Whenever we are attacking there's more solidity behind us so if we do lose the ball we can regain it quick and attack again. I think it's really good and I've really enjoyed it."
