During the second international break, many Liverpool fans will be taking the time to find out how those on loan are getting on.

The Reds have sent out numerous youngsters out for the current campaign to give them the opportunity to gain vital playing time. Liverpool came under fire this summer as a number of players were allowed to leave temporarily despite only one player joining Arne Slot's side.

However, while players such as Lewis Koumas and Kaide Gordon would undoubtedly be in and around the first-team squad, they would possibly get little to no minutes.

Doak takes Championship by storm

One player who has got off to a flying start this season is Ben Doak. The Scottish teenager is currently on loan at Middlesborough after an injury-plagued 2023/24 saw him get very little game time. Had things gone differently he may have been a more permanent first-team player.

However, Michael Carrick has put faith in the 18-year-old who has made five appearances scoring one goal and starting each of the last three games. His impressive start has led to him becoming a fan favourite already and leading a key statistic in the league.

Doak has created 3.36 chances per 90 for his Boro teammates in the Championship this season - the highest figure of any player with more than five appearances.

He also ranks fourth in the competition for touches in the opposition's box per 90 (9.07 - five+ apps)

Should Doak continue his impressive form, he is set to have an incredible season.

Liverpool are said to be interested in signing Dario Osorio from FC Midtjylland as a successor to Mohamed Salah should he depart Anfield at the end of his current contract. If Doak continues playing well, Liverpool could already have their next Salah, halting any current transfer plans.
