Alexis Mac Allister is PROVING Arne Slot WRONG
Liverpool are enjoying a great start to life under new head coach Arne Slot, who is impressing in his debut Premier League season.
The Reds currently sit one point off Manchester City at the top of the league and have won 12 of their opening 14 matches in all competitions this season.
Slot has solidified Liverpool’s backline and is also getting the best out of his forwards, with Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo all in fine form.
The Dutchman’s preferred midfield three so far has consisted of Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister & Dominik Szoboszlai and whilst all three have proved people wrong at times, one is now proving their own manager wrong.

Slot’s new admission
During a recent video for the club’s social media, Slot revealed that the thing he felt always held him back in his development as a player was his lack of pace.
“As a player it was always my lack of speed that set the boundaries. I couldn’t go higher because I simply wasn’t fast enough.” He told Sander Westerveld for the Liverpool FC YouTube channel.
Although Slot never reached the very top level of football, he made over 450 professional appearances for clubs including PEC Zwolle and Sparta Rotterdam.
Liverpool’s boss may not have won the World Cup or the Ballon d’Or but he certainly had what it took to make it on the pitch.
Alexis Mac Allister is proving Slot wrong at Liverpool
Now one of Slot’s most played players since his arrival in Merseyside, Mac Allister, is proving the Dutchman wrong.
By his own admission in Liverpool’s EA FC25 ratings video, Alexis Mac Allister is not fast.
His top speed of 32.28 km/h in the UEFA Champions League pales in comparison to his teammate, speedster Mohamed Salah, who has recorded a top speed of 34.54 km/h.
However, what Mac Allister lacks in natural pace he makes up for with technical ability.
Since his arrival at Anfield in the summer of 2023, Mac Allister has become a key part of the way the Reds play and has been a versatile and dependable tool that both Jurgen Klopp and Slot have been able to rely upon.
The World Cup winner is living proof that even if you’re slow you can make it to the very top of world football.
