Liverpool move EVEN closer to signing Alexander Isak
Liverpool are one step closer to signing Alexander Isak after a new development in the transfer saga.
There is no shadow of a doubt Richard Hughes would love to bring the Swedish forward to Anfield this summer.

Isak is the perfect no.9 for Arne Slot's system, who is capable of linking up play and scoring goals for fun.
He's one of the best forwards in the Premier League and he's only entering his prime years right now. A move for him makes absolute sense.
But it's not that easy. Because Isak is one of the best forwards in the Premier League, Newcastle will be very reluctant to allow him to leave for pastures new.
And at the same time in the event that they do allow him to leave, Liverpool will not be the only club trying to sign him. There will inevitably be others, too.

Liverpool move closer to Isak deal
That could change though. It seems like many other clubs are giving up on the prospect of signing Isak, giving Liverpool a free run.
Arsenal have been heavily linked with the 25-year-old but it seems like they have set their sights on someone else.
TEAMtalk report that while Isak is admired by Arsenal and the Gunners would love to have him at the Emirates, Mikel Arteta's side have entered talks to sign another forward.
That forward is Liam Delap, who has caught the eye at Ipswich this season and has previously been on the books at Manchester City.
Arsenal's decision to move for Delap would suggest that they are not confident that they could get a deal over the line for Isak.
One less competition for his services pretty much gives Liverpool a golden opportunity here to try and get this transfer done. It moves Hughes one step closer to his goal.
Without Arsenal in the mix, Liverpool don't have to worry about further competition. They can concentrate on getting the best deal they can on the table and see if Newcastle budge.
The Reds have an advantage in the sense that they have assets whom Newcastle would be interested and who Liverpool could send as part of the package for Isak.
This includes Joe Gomez or Jarell Quansah, both of whom are homegrown and previously wanted by Newcastle.

A package like that might just be enough to convince Newcastle to sell. It remains to be seen. Isak is definitely the dream move for Liverpool and there is still a chance Hughes can complete the deal.
