As always Salah played a pivotal part in Liverpool's victory, often acting as a target man in key moments. Salah was central to Liverpool’s attacking play, holding up the ball and bringing others into the game.

His strength and intelligence was evident as he dropped deeper to receive the ball, linked up play and created space for his teammates.

Salah leaves Neville in disbelief

The Egyptian's consistency has been a talking point for a number of seasons, it's even left Sky Sports pundit and former Manchester United defender Gary Neville in shock!

Speaking after the Chelsea game, Neville said: “Salah’s the one constant that holds them all together. He gets more and more important.

“I was talking before the game about Cole Palmer. Salah’s shocked me with his consistency and his reliability and his goals, assists over such a long period of time.

“When he first came to Liverpool, you never would have imagined he’d get to this sort of superstar level that he has, this world-class level. He holds that front line together in terms of his composure, Salah. He hangs on this right-hand side, his strength his quality.”

Salah's goal and assist against Chelsea means he has 13 goal contributions in 11 games across all competitions this season. The spot kick also saw the Egyptian become joint-ninth on the Premier League all-time goal-scorers list. There is a chance he could surpass the likes of Thierry Henry (175 goals) and Frank Lampard (177) by the end of the season.

Salah's longevity at the top level is a testament to his incredible consistency and dedication. Season after season, he delivers goals, assists, and match-winning performances. His ability to maintain peak physical condition and adapt his game ensures he remains a crucial figure for Liverpool.

Neville was far from the only one who never saw that coming!
