Liverpool are targeting a £50m player who could replace both Mo Salah and Luis Diaz at the club.

While the Reds are well stocked in the attacking department at the moment, it's clear that might not be the case in the coming months ahead.

Mo Salah's future is uncertain with the Egyptian still yet to sign a new contract on his current deal, which expires at the end of the season.

Anfield Watch revealed exclusively that Darwin Nunez is the subject of interest from Saudi Arabia and that Liverpool are open to selling him.

Meanwhile, Luis Diaz's future is also up in their with the Colombian entering the last two years of his current deal and Anfield Watch understands he is on AC Milan's radar.

How Antoine Semenyo could replace both Luis Diaz and Mo Salah

According to a report by Scott Wilson writing in the Northern Echo, Antoine Semenyo is the subject of interest from Liverpool with Bournemouth valuing him at £50m.

His report claims Liverpool are considering sending Ben Doak as part of the deal to land Semenyo with the Reds very much fans of the Ghanaian winger.

And it makes sense why.

Semenyo is ambipedal, meaning he can use both feet with ease.

If we are looking at his Football Critic profile, it's clear that he is a very active winger on both ends of the pitch. Impressively, he averages 13.7 passes into the final third per 90 - suggesting he could be a player playing from deep.

But Semenyo also averages 6.1 touches in the opposition's penalty area, which shows he can get up the pitch and find himself in dangerous positions.

Liverpool have been linked with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia recently but Semenyo (9) actually has more goal contributions than the Georgian (8) in all competitions this season, and here is why he could be a better fit.

Given the fact that Semenyo is very comfortable at playing both on the left and the right (he's played 6 games on the left and 13 on the right this season) - his arrival could easily replace both Diaz and Salah at the same time.

He might not be a glittering name like Kvaratskhelia but Semenyo is a competent player entering his prime years and he's got the makings of a potential superstar.

If Liverpool can get him involved in a deal with Doak going the other way this has the hallmarks of another genius Michael Edwards transfer.
