Mo Salah issues EXCITING contract update for Liverpool
Mo Salah got himself to 33 goal involvements in all competitions for the season with a two goal, two assist display against Tottenham this afternoon.
He also became the first Premier League player to reach double figures for both goals and assists before Christmas and he did it without really looking like he left second gear. He spent the first half probing but ultimately being wasteful, hitting the bar with his best effort.

But he slipped in Dominik Szoboszlai in a devastating counter-attack to make it 3-1 before the break, before grabbing two in seven minutes himself amid a woeful Spurs back-line to put Liverpool 5-1 up.
And then he put Luis Diaz in late on, with the Colombian putting a devastating finish in to make it 6-3 to Liverpool.
And, as ever, the question on everyone’s lips was: what does this mean for his new contract?
He was asked directly again about if there was an update in his post-match interview with Sky Sports.
“No.” was his answer.
Salah's contract answer was exactly what Liverpool fans want to hear
On the face of it, that seems like it could be a troubling answer. What do you mean there’s still no update?
But when you think about it there couldn’t have been any better answer.
Salah hasn’t shut down questions about his contract before. He has been very, very willing to talk to the media about his issues with his contract and what he wants the club to do about it.
So having nothing to say indicates that his media games have achieved exactly what he wants, despite saying he hasn't made his decision yet.
As we reported earlier in the week, sources in Egypt are saying that Salah has reached an agreement with Liverpool on a new deal. And even though the English press doesn’t seem to have the scoop, Salah’s unwillingness to engage with the topic is the best indication yet that everything is going according to plan.
It would make no sense for Salah to leave. He is the best player in the world right now in the middle of a run at the Ballon d’Or. A pre-agreement with a foreign club would hang over the rest of his best-ever season like a raincloud.
Salah knows what he wants and it seems like he has just got it.
