Liverpool's negotiations with Mo Salah over a new contract seem to be turning into a PR battle.

The Egyptian forward made a huge statement against Southampton back in November by breaking his own habit of not speaking to reporters in the mixed zone and addressing speculations about his future.

In that interview with the media, Salah stated he was more 'out then in' at Liverpool, which caused shockwaves around the club.

Fans rallied in support of him against Real Madrid unveiling a banner at Anfield urging FSG to 'give Mo his dough.'

But so far it has been to no avail, even though it's not just in the media where Salah is making a statement.

The Egyptian is taking his talking to the pitch as well, playing a key role in Liverpool's dismantling of Manchester City and Real Madrid.

And he's now seemingly making an attempt to get his message message across on social media as well.

Salah makes social media power play

As news from The Athletic has broken about Salah's willingness to agree a one year contract extension with Liverpool, Salah chose a convenient time to take to social media and post about Liverpool's victory.

Salah decided to make a wordless post without any caption instead posted merely a picture of himself celebrating with the Anfield crowd.

The timing of Salah's post just as social media conversation started to centre around his contract again is very interesting.

It could be interpreted as a real power move from Salah and it sends a strong message to the FSG board.

Salah is with the fans, and the fans are with him. He's adored in Liverpool and he's an icon. You simply cannot let him go. He's the best player at the club and he deserves to stay for many years to come.

Liverpool would be foolish to think otherwise, and the adoration on the fans surrounding Salah on the picture says it all.
