New Mo Salah Liverpool contract mystery UNRAVELLED
Mohamed Salah delivered another reminder to FSG on Wednesday night that he deserves a new Liverpool contract.
The Reds had perhaps their most difficult Premier League game since losing to Nottingham Forest in September when they visited St. James’ Park to take on a Newcastle side who had already cost Manchester City and Arsenal points.

Salah, 32, scored twice and assisted Curtis Jones to help Arne Slot’s side salvage a 3-3 draw from a testing encounter and were it not for a late Caoimhim Kelleher error then the Merseysiders would have extended their winning streak.
The Egyptian King has now scored 13 goals in 14 Premier League matches this season and added another eight assists. His form is red-hot, making current frustrations around the unresolved contract situation all the more profound.
Ex-Egypt international congratulates Salah
Liverpool fans were whipped into a frenzy on Thursday night when they came across a post on X, formerly Twitter, from Haytham Farouk, a beINSPORTS pundit who was also an Egypt international.
He represented Feyenoord, among others, during his long playing career and has been pictured alongside Salah. At 21:16 on December 4 - a time which lines up with Salah’s second goal - Farouk congratulated Salah on a new contract which met the pay and duration of the player's liking.
“Congratulations on renewing your contract with the number you like and the period you want,” he wrote. “The Egyptian king rules with his own judgments.”
Liverpool contract talks go on
Many Liverpool fans belatedly interpreted this message as confirmation that Salah had agreed a new deal. However, it appears that Farouk was paying tribute to Salah on another potentially match-winning performance and pointing out that he would now get more leverage in any contract negotiations.
Given that the week began with news that Salah was growing exasperated with Liverpool’s stance during talks it’s unlikely that Farouk had the inside line on contract talks and more unlikely still that he discovered the news precisely at the time Salah was scoring what appeared to be the winning goal.
Liverpool fans will probably have to wait a little longer before Salah’s deal is confirmed. Let’s hope not too long.
