Michael Edwards STUNNING premonition could have SAVED Liverpool £150million
Liverpool are on the hunt for players this summer, with the club rumoured to have a hefty budget.
While previous transfer windows have been relatively quiet, it is clear that the team has some issues that need addressing and Arne Slot is expected to be backed financially.

A whole range of players will be considered before the club makes any definitive moves, but it seems as though the target for the striker role is already well-known - Newcastle's talisman Alexander Isak.
However, his £150m expected price tag will be a sticking point for the club and the recruitment team will need to be on their game. Luckily, the Reds have Michael Edwards back at the helm and he might be the key to getting a deal over the line.
Edwards' long appreciation for Isak over the years
Before Edwards left the club in 2022, he has spent six years working as the sporting director, preceded by five years working as the head of the analytics department.
While the eye test is often the best way to assess a player, Liverpool believed that the underlying statistics of a player should also be key metrics to consider.
As such, while Liverpool might often announce that a player is joining out of the blue, the decision was never rash. The club had spent months looking at everything to do with the player before moving forwards.
In a sense, each player that Liverpool signed had been plucked out of Edwards' laptop, and in fairness, there were relatively few misses.
When compared to the two years that the Reds were without Edwards', we should be incredibly happy that FSG have got their star man back, guiding us through what will be a high-stakes summer.
And while Liverpool will be looking at bringing in Alexander Isak for a likely nine figure price tag, Edwards is already well aware of how talented the Swede is.
In a resurfaced tweet from DaveOCKOP in 2016, quoting a report from Sport, it is claimed that Liverpool were 'keen' on Isak almost nine years ago when he was just 17 years old.
The 'next Zlatan Ibrahimovic' was already on Edwards' radar, just a few months after becoming the club's sporting director. Imagine where Liverpool would be if he was brought in all those years ago?
Nonetheless, it's clear that Isak passed the analytics test and now that he has developed as a player, delivering regular goal tallies in the Premier League, it's clear that a deal should be a no-brainer.
