Liverpool tipped to REVIVE interest in long-term striking target on ONE condition
It’s an unfortunate truth of football that one team’s loss is always another team’s gain.
Premier League sides raiding teams that have been relegated is a tale as old as time. And whilst the Premier League relegation race is still a complete open book, it is worth keeping an eye on the areas Liverpool could strengthen should a team go down.

With the sacking of former Liverpool coach Gary O’Neil as Wolves manager today, the outlook for the Midlanders isn’t good.
It is also surprising because their team is littered with some very good individual players.
But none have been better than attacker Matheus Cunha.
The former Atletico Madrid player is already set to have the season of his life so far in front of goal. He already has eight goals for Wolves, two-thirds of the way to his season-high of 12 last season in just half as many games.
And, importantly, Liverpool have been admirers of Cunha in the past. They initially approached the Brazilian when he was at Atleti, but were knocked back and eventually ended up signing Luis Diaz, as reported at the time by Spanish outlet AS.
But with Diaz potentially on his way out of Merseyside, Liverpool will need to replenish their attacking ranks.
What would Matheus Cunha bring to Liverpool?
Cunha primarily operates as a centre forward, which is a position Liverpool are actively targeting.
Between Omar Marmoush and Joao Pedro, Liverpool seem to have their centre forward targets nailed down. But a cut-price deal for Cunha from a relegated Wolves side that will be desperate to balance their books - with Championship commercial fees comically low compared to the Premier League’s - an opportunity that is too good to pass up might arise.
Cunha did, however, have a serious altercation with Ipswich Town's staff after a last-minute loss yesterday, raising serious questions about his temperament.
Sporting director Richard Hughes is not averse to exploiting opportunities, with the £12m deal for Federico Chiesa unexpected until it emerged.
Cunha initially joined Wolves on a loan-to-buy deal valued up to £35m, but Liverpool might be able to acquire the Brazilian for something similar.
He would add a directness and a clinical edge to a Liverpool attacking line that, along with Marmoush and Pedro, could go some way to stem the blow of Mo Salah leaving, whenever that happens.
