Liverpool look to fix their BIGGEST problem with Viktor Gyokeres
Liverpool reportedly want to sign Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP. He would fix their biggest problem right now.
Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany claims Liverpool are one of a few clubs looking to sign Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres. The Swede is expected to depart Portugal at the end of the season, and the Reds join Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City with interest in him.
Gyokeres would cost around £50m, which could rise due to the competition. Still, it's potentially a bargain price for one of Europe's most exciting strikers.

Per Opta data on FBref, Gyokeres is one of the most dominant players outside the 'big 5' European leagues. He's in the top three per cent of strikers for xG and the top two per cent for expected assists.
That ends up looking even better when you consider his actual goals: 12 in 9 Primeira Liga games this season. It's coming off a debut season where Gyokeres scored 29 and assisted another 10 just in the league as Sporting won the title.
He's playing sensational football, in other words, and looks ideal to fix Liverpool's biggest problem.
Viktor Gyokeres at Liverpool
Liverpool have a brilliant attack. What they don't have is a reliable centre-forward.
Darwin Nunez is Darwin Nunez. He's erratic at best and while he is capable of truly fantastic things, it appears pretty clear that 'reliable finisher' isn't a tag he'll ever earn for Liverpool.
Of course, Liverpool do have a reliable finisher: Diogo Jota. His problem is different to Nunez in that he just can't stay on the pitch long enough.
Jota's injury problems have been constant throughout his time at Anfield. While they're not so bad that Liverpool should look to sell, combine him with Nunez and the squad simply lacks anyone scoring consistently at centre-forward.
It's particularly notable because Arne Slot did use an out-and-out striker with Feyenoord. He had fantastic success with Santiago Gimenez and given he's playing roughly the same system, we imagine he'd want a striker with similar stature.
Gyokeres would give him that, and provide Liverpool with a reliable striker in his prime. One who can lead the line and score with regularity.
At £50m, it could be a steal.
