Liverpool Loan Watch: Fabio Carvalho on the scoresheet & Sepp van den Berg claims huge win
It wasn't a weekend to savour for Liverpool, but some of the club's loanees still managed to enjoy themselves.
The Reds dropped points in the title race after an infuriating 2-2 draw with Manchester United on Sunday - a third straight match without victory against their fierce rivals.
While Liverpool's loanees will have kept a keen eye on the clash at Old Trafford at the weekend, they will have been focused on performing well for their current clubs - which many of them did.
Let's take a closer look at how Liverpool's loan players fared this weekend.
FABIO CARVALHO STANDS OUT AMONG LIVERPOOL LOANEES
The Liverpool youngster who caught the eye most this weekend was undoubtedly Fabio Carvalho, who was influential in a significant victory for Hull City in the Championship.
The Portugal U21 international has been in terrific form since swapping RB Leipzig for the MKM Stadium in January, helping Liam Rosenior's side push for a play-off place.
Saturday's victory was important in their hunt for the top six, with Carvalho netting twice in a 3-1 away win over Cardiff City.
His Hull teammate and fellow Liverpool loanee Tyler Morton also featured, but was substituted after the hour mark with the Tigers already boasting a two-goal cushion.
However, good news for Carvalho and Morton meant bad news for Nat Phillips, who was at the heart of the Cardiff defence during the defeat in Wales.
Another Liverpool centre-back currently out on loan is Sepp van den Berg, who was part of a hugely significant 4-0 win for Mainz over bottom of the table Darmstadt.
It was a third successive clean sheet for Van den Berg after shutouts against Leipzig and Bochum, with his Mainz side now just three points off safety after Saturday's emphatic win.
Young goalkeeper Vitezslav Jaros turned out for Austrian side Sturm Graz on Sunday, keeping a clean sheet in a 1-0 victory over Liverpool's Europa League group stage opponents LASK.
Adam Lewis was on the wrong end of a 1-0 scoreline with Newport County in League Two, while James Norris also tasted defeat for Tranmere Rovers.
The quartet of Billy Koumetio (Blackburn Rovers), Luke Chambers (Wigan Athletic), Calvin Ramsay (Bolton Wanderers) and Owen Beck (Dundee) didn't feature for their sides this weekend, with young goalkeeper Harvey Davies (Crewe Alexandra) also not in action.
