Liverpool legends squad to face Ajax

Liverpool welcome Fernando Torres back to Anfield for this one, with the Spaniard making his debut for the Reds' legends team. He'll even link up with Steven Gerrard again, who headlines the team.

Former captain Sami Hyypia also makes it, who joins fellow Istanbul heroes Jerzy Dudek and Djibril Cisse. Both Jari Litmanen and Ryan Babel will play for both teams here, too. Dirk Kuyt will be relishing a meeting with Ajax, naturally.

The squad in full:

Jerzy Dudek, Chris Kirkland, Sander Westerveld, Daniel Agger, Fabio Aurelio, Sami Hyypia, Bjorn Tore Kvarme, Martin Skrtel, Gregory Vignal, Igor Biscan, Steven Gerrard, Mark Gonzalez, Maxi Rodriguez, Momo Sissoko, Jay Spearing, Ryan Babel, Djibril Cisse, Nabil El Zhar, Dirk Kuyt, Jari Litmanen, Fernando Torres.

Ajax legends squad to face Liverpool

Some familiar names in the Ajax squad, of course - including Jari Litmanen and Ryan Babel. Rafael van der Vaart will feature, while Ronald de Boer is arguably the standout name alongside Litmanen after over 300 incredibly successful games for the club.

The squad in full:

Aron Winter, Clyde Wijnhard, Danny Blind, Dennis Gentenaar, Derk Boerrigter, Eyong Enoh, Jan van Halst, Jari Litmanen, Kiki Musampa, Kenneth Perez, Michael Krohn-Dehli, Nordin Wooter, Nwankwo Kanu, Olaf Lindenbergh, Rafael van der Vaart, Ricardo van Rhijn, Richard Witschge, Ronald de Boer, Ryan Babel, Siem de Jong, Sjaak Swart, Simon Tahamata, Sonny Silooy, Urby Emanuelson.

Sven-Goran Eriksson

Sven-Goran Eriksson will take a particularly special place in this one as the manager of Liverpool's team. The former England boss is a lifelong fan of the Reds and has previously admitted that a major disappointment in his career is that he never had the chance to manage them.

Eriksson announced at the start of the year that he had terminal pancreatic cancer and may not live another year. The decision to include him in the legends game was put forward on social media after his announcement and quickly made a reality by the club.

He'll join Ian Rush, John Barnes and John Aldridge in the dugout for Liverpool.
