Liverpool left-back's season is OVER due to injury
Liverpool have had big success producing players from the youth and academy ranks in recent seasons. This term under Arne Slot the likes of James McConnell, Trey Nyoni, Amara Nallo and Rio Ngumoha have earned first-team minutes.
It demonstrates to those coming up after that there will be opportunities to mix it with the first-team stars so long as their progress is steady.

And there is one more gem in the Under-18 ranks who could well develop into a star of the future.
Clae Ewing impresses in 2024/25 season
His name is Clae Ewing, who plays either as a left-back or a left-sided midfielder. The 18-year-old has featured extensively in the U18 Premier League this campaign and also made his UEFA Youth League debut.
He played 90 minutes in that competition against Stuttgart, excelling with his overlapping runs and tireless running. Ewing has even played at Premier League 2 level this term alongside the likes of Nyoni, McConnell and Nallo.

In the U18 league, Ewing has played nine times, earning three assists, and has been tipped for a first-team role in the years ahead. There could well be chances too with Andy Robertson turning 31 and Kostas Tsimikas not always reliable as a deputy.
Sadly Ewing’s 2024/25 season has been cut short due to injury and he may well have to wait until after the summer before he gets the chance to make an impression on Slot.
Ewing confirmed the injury on Instagram, writing: "Frustrating to end my season early. A lot of positives to take and I'll be back Godspeed!"
Clae Ewing misses rest of the season
“Clae Ewing’s season has ended early due to injury,” journalist Lewis Bower wrote on X.
“The Liverpool academy player can be massively proud of his efforts this season. He missed the entirety of his maiden scholarship season due to injury, in which he couldn’t train at all.
“He’s banked a good set of minutes, and looked undeterred and unaffected in both his quality and efforts.
“Handy at midfield and primarily at left-back, his bustling physically really showed out allowing him to win his 1v1s and drive with the ball up the pitch. He even made his U21 debut as an U18 player.
“Best wishes, ready for a clean bill of health next season.”
