Lille have moved to set a price for Leny Yoro after reports that Liverpool want to sign the player in 2024. The Reds now know what he'll cost.

This comes from Foot Mercato. They report that Lille have set a 'fixed price' for Leny Yoro as interest in the 18-year-old defender continues to grow.

Paris Saint-Germain are naturally suitors, while there's increased speculation that Liverpool want the player. Le10Sport reported it most recently - the Reds are ready to compete for Yoro.

Yoro has built an incredible reputation this season. He's still only 18 but is a consistent force at the back for Lille - Ligue 1's second-best defence. The teenager has two goals to his name already, too, while ticking the passing box that elite clubs like. Yoro passes at a 91 per cent success rate, which is quite incredible for a young defender.

All in all, you'll struggle to find a better long-term prospect at the back and Lille know that. It's why they've slapped a £43m price tag on Yoro, forcing clubs into a decision.

Because at the end of the day, that isn't too much for a player of this potential. Lille are essentially asking clubs to take a risk, though - Yoro's age means there isn't exactly a great sample size in which to judge that potential.

He'd still be a risk, then, but one that certain clubs would absolutely take at £45m. But are Liverpool one of them?

The Reds don't typically get involved in this kind of transfer battle, nor do they pay large amount for unproven players. In fact, the club much prefers to wait and pay more for a player once he's got more football under his belt.

Dominik Szoboszlai is a fine example of that. Liverpool were heavily linked before his move to RB Leipzig but never made an offer. They were happier to pay over £60m to get him once he'd kicked on and proven himself, however.

So Yoro is still a bit of a mystery but the Reds could use a new centre-back. And if they want someone for the long-term, there may not be a better option. But they'll need to figure out their stance quickly.
