Liverpool transfers: Arne Slot delivers Caoimhin Kelleher deadline day update
Liverpool boss Arne Slot today addressed ongoing rumours surrounding the future of goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, ahead of the Reds' Premier League clash against Manchester United, Slot touched on the potential business yet to be completed ahead of tonight’s transfer deadline.
Slot, who was quizzed on the future of Kelleher following rumours of the Republic of Ireland international’s departure, argued that the club ‘has to make decisions’ on the goalkeeper, as does the player himself.

“I think if you work at a club like Liverpool, you need competition, and we need a lot of good players,” Slot argued.
“And like I said, Mamardashvili is someone for the long future of the club and I'm really, really happy with the goalkeepers we have at the moment.
“Caoimhin is one of them, like Vite [Vitezslav Jaros] and Ali [Alisson Becker]. So, we're in a good place when it comes to goalkeepers for now and for the long term.”
Could Kelleher be on the move?
Rumours of a move away from Anfield for the 25-year-old have circulated in recent weeks, with Liverpool purchasing another goalkeeper in Giorgi Mamardashvili.
However, yesterday appeared to ease any threat of an imminent departure for the Irishman, as the club rejected a late bid from Nottingham Forest to secure his services.
Kelleher has proved himself to be a key figure for Liverpool in recent seasons, standing in for first choice goalkeeper Alisson Becker last season whilst the Brazilian recovered from injury.
Keeping two clean sheets in 10 league appearances last season, Kelleher has proved his worth on more occasion than one to the Anfield faithful.
The Irish goalkeeper has also played a monumental role in Liverpool’s cup success of recent years, keeping two clean sheets in as many cup finals as he aided the Reds in overcoming Chelsea in two Carabao cup finals
