Jurgen Klopp set to be key to THREE Liverpool summer signings
Back when Jurgen Klopp was announced as Red Bull’s Head of Global Soccer in October, Liverpool fans were a bit outraged.
It felt like it went against everything the legendary German espoused.

But then there was bargaining and acceptance. And the idea of Liverpool perhaps getting friendlier deals than most other teams when negotiating with a Red Bull-owned team for players was appealing for understandable reasons.
Links between Liverpool and players from the Red Bull teams - particularly RB Leipzig - began to emerge.
These included strikers Lois Openda and Benjamin Sesko, attacking midfielder Xavi Simons, and centre back Castello Lukeba as the main candidates.
Talk of these players have gone through peaks and troughs as the season has continued on, but now it might be about to get a whole lot more real - if Klopp has anything to do with it.

Klopp set to sell Liverpool's Leipzig targets
According to a new report by German outlet BILD, Klopp was back in Leipzig this weekend as RB beat his old side, Borussia Dortmund, 2-0. But he was really there, reportedly, to have a big meeting on squad planning for next season.
Klopp was joined by Red Bull’s Technical Director Mario Gomez, Head of Soccer Development Zsolt Low and his assistant Peter Krawitez, as well as Leipzig’s suits - Sporting Director Marcel Schafer and Chairman Johann Plenge.
The meeting’s outcome was reportedly an agreement on the type of players Leipzig want to bring in - largely due to the departures of Sesko, Lukeba and Simons looming.
This very much opens the door for Liverpool, then. Being linked to all three players consistently over the course of the season is one thing, but knowing Leipzig actually expect to lose them is another.
This gives Richard Hughes and company a real opportunity to isolate and take a run at whichever of the players they want to prioritise.

Liverpool could arguably use all three but are understandably unlikely to get them all - not least of all because buying three players from the same team in a single summer is poor practice.
The Reds already have a history of dealing with RB Leipzig. They signed Ibrahima Konate from them back in 2021 and Dominik Szoboszlai in 2023.
As a result, everything is in place for Liverpool to make another worthwhile addition as they aim for back-to-back Premier League titles next season.

All three of the available players would be brilliant additions to the side. Sesko has the size and strength profile Arne Slot clearly wants from his strikers, whilst Lukeba would future-proof the Virgil van Dijk hole that will eventually take place in the back line, and Xavi Simons is a profile the team are sorely lacking at present.
One thing is certain - Jurgen Klopp isn’t quite done with the Reds just yet.
