Jurgen Klopp DELIGHTS Liverpool fans in impromptu Australia drinking session
Jurgen Klopp’s next adventure in the world of football has been well documented by now, as the legendary German coach becomes Red Bull’s Director of Global Soccer from the start of 2025.
Klopp, who won every trophy he could with Liverpool, had previously joked about how he’s too young to just retire and spend time with 'padel tennis and grandchildren'.
And we’ve already seen him back in the dugout as he coached for the testimonial of his former Borussia Dortmund players, Jakub Blaszczykowski and Lukasz Piszczek.

Now, it seems like a last-minute spot of travelling is on the Liverpool legend’s agenda, as a story has emerged of him sharing a few drinks with some Liverpool fans in north Australia.
"It was just right place, right time," Liverpool fan Ronan Mackey told ABC Darwin. "We were very, very, very lucky. No one knew he was coming.
“One of my mates as well had their Liverpool jerseys on, walked down to Berry Springs Tavern. Walking past Jurgen Klopp, he obviously pointed at the mate I was with.
“He said if you guys sit over there I’ll come see you guys in a little bit when I finish my lunch, and that’s exactly what happened… We sat over, had a beer. Next minute we’ve got Jurgen Klopp walking over towards us with a beer, pulls up a pew and sits down and starts chatting.
Klopp down under
“Him and the wife and a small group were travelling around Australia,” Murphy said that Klopp had explained to him and his friends, “He’d never been to Australia before, it’s gonna take 19 days and they were on a cruise trip that had just come in from Bali.
"They decided to go to one of the most iconic pubs in the Northern Territories, the Berry Springs Tavern, see a few crocs. Get as much of they could out of the real territory.
"Nobody even knew who he was, nobody even seen him. It was hard to recognise with the baseball cap on and the beard.
"But once he smiles, everybody knows who he is. When you see those big white teeth, you know that's definitely Jurgen Klopp.
“We had a laugh because he hates 12:30 kick-offs back in the UK and we love 12:30 kick-offs because it starts at 10 o’clock," Murphy joked.
Klopp's surprise Darwin visit
Berry Springs Tavern is located in the city of Darwin, capital of Australia’s Northern Territories state.
No matter where you are in the world, spotting a Liverpool shirt and deciding you have to have a beer is an incredibly Jurgen Klopp thing to do.
It speaks to the character of the man that we all know and love so well.
Some were worried that he had ruined his own reputation with the upcoming Red Bull move, but it was his personality that Reds fell in love with as much as his on-pitch results.
A chance encounter with Klopp would be the dream of any Liverpool fan. It’s good to know that it would go exactly as we all dream it would.
