It marked the end of an era at Anfield with Klopp and his team helping to reestablish the Reds as one of the pre-eminent clubs in England and the world.
Under their careful guidance, Liverpool won the Premier League title - after a three-decade hiatus - as well as the Champions League. And now another architect from that regime has announced his departure from the club.
Jordan Fairclough joined Liverpool back in 2017 as an academy fitness department intern, according to his LinkedIn profile, being promoted to the first-team picture as physical performance coach in April 2018.

Through that time he was board for decisive title victories in the Premier League, Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, the FA Cup, EFL Cup, Community Shield and more. But now he’s ready to move onto pastures new.
“7.5 years at a wonderful football club,” he wrote on LinkedIn. “I've learnt, laughed, loved and made some amazing friends and memories. A very special club and a very special city.”

Alongside his LinkedIn post, Fairclough, 33, also curated a post on Instagram commemorating his time at Anfield. The post, entitled the LFC Memories Album, featured a montage of images including several current Liverpool first-team stars and club legends.
Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Curtis Jones, Dominik Szoboszlai, Caoimhin Kelleher, Harvey Elliott, Luis Diaz, Takumi Minamino and Federico Chiesa are among the players pictured alongside the fitness coach.
He also uploaded several shots of him holding those trophies, including the FA Cup and the Champions League. One image taken after an EFL Cup final win features Fairclough alongside Klopp and other Liverpool staff.
And Fairclough’s announcement has elicited an emotional reaction from Liverpool players across social media.
Curtis Jones wrote: “Appreciate you forever my brother!” Harvey Elliott posted: “A brother!!! Keep being you legend” And Stefan Bajcetic said: “Legend All the best Jord”
Several other academy stars past and present also paid tribute, including: Isaac Mabaya, Kaide Gordon, James McConnell, Rhys Williams, Calum Scanlon, Lewis Koumas, Billy Koumetio, Vitezslav Jaros, Layton Stewart and Owen Beck.
It’s testament to the effect that Fairclough had on the players under his care that he received such a warm send-off.
