Liverpool coach aims for COLOSSAL deal as Arne Slot turns down Reds' offer
A lot can be gleaned from the personal lives of coaches. They way they act, the way they think, even the way they dress.
Liverpool’s new head coach Arne Slot is quite an understated man. He cuts a charismatic figure but does so through mystery. Regardless, his methods have provided instant results for Liverpool.
One of his key assistant coaches to bring about this immediate success has been former Everton man John Heitinga.

Reports earlier in the season claimed that the initial success of Liverpool’s Spanish-speaking players was owed, in part, to Heitinga’s ability to communicate complex messages in their mother tongue.
As a result, he has been seen as an essential aspect of Liverpool’s current coaching setup. New reports by Bekende Buren that Heitinga is looking to sell his home in Amsterdam South seem to suggest that he is more than committed to life on Merseyside.
The report states that Heitinga “bought this completely renovated stately mansion for a price of €2.7 million” and is looking to sell at just under €5m.
What a colossal profit that would be for the former Dutch international.
Slot refuses to live in Klopp's home
And this report follows on from a recent one in the Echo that Liverpool FC have put Jurgen Klopp’s former home in Formby up for sale after Arne Slot turned down the opportunity to live in it.
“A club source told the ECHO that Arne Slot chose to live in a different property upon his arrival at the club and so it felt like the right time for the club to put the property on the market,” reads the report.
This harks back to how the personality of a coach can be reflected in their personal lives. Slot’s decision to move away from recent tradition, shirking the gargantuan property speaks to his preference to do, not show.
The property itself has a bizarre history. Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard bought the house in 2005, before selling it to former manager Brendan Rodgers in 2012. Rodgers then rented it out to Klopp when he arrived in England, before the club officially bought the house in 2019.
Rodgers previously joked that Klopp was a great tenant who “always pays the rent on time” in an interview back in 2019.
We had absolutely zero doubts.
