Liverpool Transfer News: Reds target agrees landmark £20m deal
The January transfer window has been a little bit lacklustre in the Premier League in general, although deadline day could always change that.
Outside of Manchester City landed Liverpool target Omar Marmoush, no real landmark signings have been made.

Liverpool are still mainly focused on getting the contracts of Mo Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold signed before making any significant additions to the squad.
This includes replacements should any of those players leave. And one of these who has been linked early and often as an Alexander-Arnold replacement has just bagged himself a huge new deal.
Jeremie Frimpong pens huge New Balance deal
Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong has signed a £20 million deal with sportswear giants New Balance.
As revealed by the Daily Mail, the deal “puts him in the same bracket as Erling Haaland and Lionel Messi’s deals with Nike and Adidas respectively”.
It’s a bizarre sentence that shows the scope of the deal and the trust that has been placed in Frimpong to fulfill his potential.
He was an integral aspect of Leverkusen’s Bundesliga winning side under former Red Xabi Alonso last season, and has taken a step up to playing in a right-wing position throughout this current season.
And he has turned more creator than finisher in that role, with nine assists and just two goals across all competitions this season.
Liverpool have been linked to Frimpong for months, including inviting his agent to a director's box when Leverkusen visited Anfield in the Champions League this season.
It would be interesting, then, to see what head coach Arne Slot would do should Liverpool end up acquiring the Dutchman. The hybrid full-back/advanced role Frimpong has been operating in doesn’t exist in Slot’s system, but supportive full backs and dynamic wingers do.
It would be down to Liverpool’s own Dutchman to figure out where Frimpong could develop the best and fit in to what could be a rapidly changing Anfield side.
