While the club is constantly on the lookout for new recruits in the transfer market, players from the academy are often allowed to prove themselves at a professional level before a decision is made on their future.

In the case of Jayden Danns, the debate has been long fought, but Liverpool may have mapped out a perfect career plan for him.

Danns set for loan move to Stoke City

According to journalist Darren Witcoop, Championship side Stoke have joined the race to work with Jayden Danns, who would move on loan to The Potters.

19-year-old Danns is a striker who Liverpool fans have become fascinated with. When given the chance to play with the senior team last season, he scored twice in the FA Cup against Southampton and in this year's edition of the competition, under the eye of new boss Arne Slot, he scored again in Liverpool's 4-0 over Accrington Stanley.

Now with three goals in limited cameos for the Reds, speculation has risen that maybe Danns could feature more regularly for the team, while Darwin Nunez continues to struggle in front of goal.

However, given his success in the first team has come from such a limited sample size, there has been a lot of debate about what his future should hold.

In order to develop players and see what they're really made of in a professional setting, Liverpool have often sent players out on loan and away from the constraints of the academy, the players have been able to express themselves more freely, improving their game before they return to the club.

If Danns were to join Stoke, then he would be given regular minutes in a competitive environment and he would not be alone in his endeavour either. Fellow academy player Lewis Koumas is already out on loan at Stoke.

Not only could this allow Danns to showcase what he's capable of before Liverpool decides to add him to the senior team on a more regular basis, but he could also reignite the attacking partnership that he developed with Koumas, which would give the Reds a whole host of options to assess.

Of course, Stoke will face competition to bring Danns in, but if a deal were to be struck, then Liverpool would have two of their future stars playing together and the Potters would be the beneficiaries of having two of the biggest up-and-coming talents at the club.
