Fears grow that injury-hit Liverpool striker's season is OVER
Liverpool have got several youth and academy players who have made the step up to first-team level over the last couple of seasons.
The likes of Conor Bradley and Jarell Quansah have emerged as genuine options - first for Jurgen Klopp and subsequently for new coach Arne Slot - while there are a few more youngsters capable of filling in when required.

We’ve seen Rio Ngumoha, Trey Nyoni and James McConnell impress for Slot’s first team this term and the Reds have also got a striker with first-team minutes - and goals - to his name.
Jayden Danns, 19, signed a new long-term contract last month before heading out on loan for the remainder of the season to Championship side Sunderland.

It was expected that the homegrown prospect would bolster the Black Cats’ promotion campaign but it’s been a story of frustration so far for Danns at the Stadium of Light.
The Liverpool forward picked up an unfortunate back injury during his medical, returning to Liverpool for treatment.
Danns' season in doubt
There are now conflicting reports over whether or not Danns will actually manage to play for Sunderland before his loan deal expires.
“Sources inside the AoL are indicating that we’re unlikely to even see him play this season,” Roker Report stated last week.
However, that line is contradicted in a new report from journalist Alan Nixon on his Patreon page. It’s believed that while Danns remains injured, he is expected to join his teammates in April ahead of a potential playoff push.

Sunderland are currently fourth, well adrift of the automatic promotion places, but have a strong buffer between themselves and the other playoff contenders.
Regis Le Bris’ side managed to re-align their season on Friday night with a 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday following consecutive defeats to Leeds United and Hull City.
Danns a future Liverpool star
And should they remain in the playoff picture as expected then Danns could provide a timely return. Sunderland are also without the talismanic Enzo Le Fee as well as Dan Ballard and will be hoping to stay in contention until they return.
Danns remains at Liverpool for treatment on his injury until he is fit enough to link up with his Sunderland colleagues.
This season he has played four matches for Arne Slot, in the Premier League, the FA Cup, Carabao Cup and Champions League. He has scored once, with that goal coming in the FA Cup win against Accrington Stanley in January.
