"Liverpool is the best club in the world" - Kostas Tsimikas on playing for the Reds
In a recent interview, Liverpool's Kostas Tsimikas has talked about his teammates, the Anfield faithful and what it means playing for such a historic club.
Ever since Kostas Tsimikas signed for Liverpool in 2020 from Olympiacos for a reported fee of £11m, he has become a much-loved character within Jurgen Klopp's squad.
The self-proclaimed 'Greek Scouser' has adapted to life on Merseyside exceptionally and his performances on the pitch have made the fans love him either more.
Even though he faces very tough competition from Andy Robertson at left-back, every time the 25-year-old plays he gives Klopp a very good case to start him more regularly.
Even though he doesn't start as much as the Scotland captain, the players clearly appreciate his role within the squad and he never sulks, always supporting the team no matter what.
Speaking to Liverpool FC after the Norwich game, Kostas spoke about his love for the Reds and how he will give everything for the fans whenever he gets the chance to play.
"Liverpool is, for me, the best club in the world," said Tsimikas. "Whenever I play, I give absolutely everything. Whenever they give me the chance, I want to be the best player – I think it's the same for all the boys.
"The crowd was unbelievable, you enjoy playing in front of them. We can say a big thanks because once more it was a full stadium and we made them happy with this win."
The 'Greek Scouser' also spoke about his teammate, Takumi Minamino, who scored a brace to help take Liverpool into the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
"Taki's an unbelievable player, in my opinion. We saw every player, no matter when he will play, will be ready – this is 100 per cent sure. We are hungry for that," said Kostas.
"We will play for the win, we give everything. No matter who is playing, this is our mentality, this is our team spirit. We go for it no matter who is playing. You have to give everything for the win."
Finally, the 25-year-old told Liverpool how tough the game was against Norwich on Wednesday.
"It was very, very tough for us, a very intense game. All the boys gave absolutely everything," said Tsimikas.
"I want to say congratulations to all the boys. We deserved this win, we are very happy and we wait to play the next game with the same passion.
"For this team, every competition is very important. We go for it no matter if we play in the Carabao Cup or FA Cup. We play for the same goal, hungry to win the trophy.
"Every player who played [against Norwich] gave everything and we went for it."
