Liverpool get HUGE injury boost ahead of Merseyside derby
Arne Slot might be watching this international window through his hands amid injury concerns of several Liverpool stars.
The Reds have been looking a little run down in recent weeks, dropping out of the Champions League to Paris Saint-Germain and losing the Carabao Cup final to Newcastle.
Liverpool Transfer News: Reds salary RESET as manager admits Salah situation 'not easy'
Some star players look in need of a rest but they got the exact opposite, jetting off to various parts of the world for international fixtures.
Things took a wayward turn almost immediately with Ryan Gravenberch being sent back to the AXA Training Centre for treatment ahead of the Netherlands’ UEFA Nations League game against Spain.
Then Ibrahima Konate was SUBSTITUTED at half-time during France’s 2-0 defeat to Croatia in a performance that won’t live long in the memory. Happily it doesn't appear that the Frenchman is injured.
Alisson injured against Colombia
And further anguish was to follow when Alisson Becker was forced off during Brazil’s World Cup qualification match against Colombia early on Friday morning.
The Brazil No1 collided with Davinson Sanchez, suffering a head injury, and was immediately replaced by Al Nassr goalkeeper Bento.
The 32-year-old was given the diagnosis of a suspected concussion with Liverpool subsequently confirming Alisson would return to the club ahead of schedule.
He was due to undergo an assessment by club medical staff and the player has now offered an update on his condition.
Alisson 'fine' after concussion fears
“Hey guys, just to let you know I’m fine! Just have to follow the protocols! Thanks for the messages,” he wrote on Instagram to the relief of Liverpool supporters.
The Reds are back in Premier League action against Everton on April 2, needing 16 more points to secure their first title since 2020.
No doubt Arne Slot will rest a little easier now that Alisson is confirmed well and he will be hoping to have all his players fit and raring to go for the run-in.
