How many points do Liverpool NEED to win the Premier League title?
Liverpool are red-hot favourites for the Premier League title after extending their lead over Arsenal at the top of the table by a further TWO points on Wednesday night.
The Gunners could only manage a disappointing 0-0 draw away at Nottingham Forest, following up the weekend's dismal home loss to West Ham at the Emirates.

That sequence of games means Liverpool have managed to stretch their lead from eight points to 13 points in the space of only a week.
It would take a pretty dramatic collapse for the Reds to drop the title from here and now look a safe bet to secure their first league title since 2020.
Arne Slot would become an immediate Anfield legend if that happens. But here's exactly what Liverpool need to do - and when - in order to win the Premier League.

How can Liverpool win the Premier League?
Liverpool can guarantee the Premier League title by finishing one point ahead of Arsenal's maximum points total. As long as the Reds are top, that will be the case (unless a team somehow overtakes the Gunners, then we'd need to look at someone else).
As of Wednesday 26th February, Arsenal can get a maximum of 87 points. That comes after losing 1-0 to West Ham and drawing with Nottingham Forest in their last two games. They have played 27 games, one less than Liverpool, and have earned 54 points.

Liverpool are on 67 points from 28 games after a win over Newcastle on Wednesday and have a maximum points tally of 97.
That would be the joint-fourth-highest points tally in Premier League history - level with Jurgen Klopp's team that (ridiculously) failed to win the title in 2018/19.
But Liverpool will not need that many this time around. 88 points guarantees the Reds win the title after Arsenal's slip-ups.
That means 21 points from a possible 30. Liverpool can afford three defeats, in other words, and still win the title by winning the remaining games.
Should they win their next seven games in a row then Liverpool will be champions after the Chelsea game on May 3 - with three games to spare.

This assumes Arsenal will win every remaining fixture themselves. That feels highly unlikely at this stage and the Reds could wrap up the title even earlier.
Liverpool welcome Arsenal to Anfield on May 10th but the outcome of the title race looks set to be a foregone conclusion.
