Liverpool hoping to cut losses with Loris Karius in January according to Liverpool journalist

According to David Lynch, are hoping to cut ties with goalkeeper Loris Karius in January with the German seemingly frozen out of Jurgen Klopp’s side. According to Lynch, Karius will be allowed to leave for free in the next transfer window as he looks to kickstart his career.

The German shot-stopper could have spent the season at FC Basel, but did not want to sacrifice a large chunk of his salary in order to force a move through, according to Lynch. 

So far this season, we are yet to see Karius involved in any competitions for Liverpool. And that doesn’t look likely to change soon. A shoulder injury may have ruled him out against Preston North End in the Carabao Cup, but, it has to be said, he was unlikely to get any game-time ahead of Adrian or Caoimhin Kelleher.

Ever since that fateful night in the Champions League final against Real Madrid, Karius’ career at Liverpool looked destined to end; it was an impossible task for the goalkeeper to get back between the sticks. A few loan moves have hinted that his career could get back on track, before previous bad habits creep into his game.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

The departure of Loris Karius would suit both parties - the player and the club. Karius, the player, is receiving no game time, and is unlikely to receive game time. Meanwhile, Liverpool already have two backup goalkeepers, and simply do not need Karius.
