Mohamed Salah contract announcement could be just weeks away
Liverpool chiefs are reportedly hopeful on Mohamed Salah signing a new contract with the club and a deal could be announced in the next few weeks that sees him extend his stay on Merseyside.
The Egyptian is going to be missing for the next few weeks as he links up with his national team to compete at AFCON, and he'll be looking to take his club form into the tournament to try and win the competition outright.
Indeed, we're going to miss him but certainly not as much as we would if he ever left during his peak years, which is something the Reds are bidding to avoid.
Contract negotiations are yet to have delivered the news that everyone wants, but Kevin Palmer writes in the Sunday World that there is hope an agreement can be reached relatively soon:
Anfield Watch Verdict
There probably isn't a single Liverpool fan around that does not want to see Mohamed Salah sign a new deal with the Reds, as it would be probably his last big contract and confirmation that the remainder of his peak years will be played at Anfield.
He has been world-class this season and arguably the very best player in the world so it is only natural that the Reds want to keep hold of him.
Of course, an agreement needs to be reached around wages and it could well be expensive but the way he is performing it would surely be more of a loss to see him leave the club.
