Liverpool transfers: Reds among SEVEN teams chasing Germany forward Beier
Liverpool have been named as one of the clubs reportedly keen on making a move for Hoffenheim forward Maximilian Beier.
That is according to a report from Calciomercato via BILD which states that The Reds are keeping tabs on the 21-year-old.
Beier made his professional debut for Hoffenheim back in 2020 but last season was his breakthrough campaign with the club.
After a loan out he came back into the first-team set-up to finish the campaign as Hoffenheim’s top goal scorer with 16 goals in all competitions.
This even made German manager Julian Nagelsmann sit up and take note as he named him in his Euro 2024 squad.
BEIER’S EXIT CLAUSE
There is more interest in him from the Premier League as supposedly Liverpool's rivals Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are also looking at him.
As well as those three Brighton have been linked alongside Aston Villa who are preparing for life in Europe’s elite competition with Unai Emery.
Outside of the Premier League Serie A giants Juventus also want him so they can have a backup to main man Dusan Vlahovic.
Beier did have an exit clause worth €32.5 million in his contract but that expired at the end of June so teams are free to start negotiations with Hoffenheim.
If a deal cannot be agreed with Hoffenheim the interested parties can wait another 12 months for a €30m exit clause which becomes active.
With his contract expiring in 2027 the club may be keen to get the best possible price for him so an exit looks very possible this summer.
If Liverpool's decision makers want a new forward any deal will likely be done after the USA pre-season tour as Arne Slot gives everyone a fair chance.
In Liverpool's first game against Real Betis Slot played two false nines using Harvey Elliott and Dominik Szoboszlai which could possibly allude to a shortage of forwards in the side.
