"Liverpool have sent scouts" - Fabrizio Romano provides transfer update
Liverpool are keeping a close eye on Villarreal winger Yeremy Pino.
The 19-year-old has been linked with a move to Arsenal in recent times.
However, they are not the only Premier League side interested in Pino. Romano has confirmed that Liverpool have sent scouts to watch the Spaniard in the past.
As quoted by HITC, he told the Here We Go Podcast the following: “Many questions on Yeremy Pino. We have many rumours, it’s one of many players followed by Arsenal, but also by other clubs, for example, I am told that Chelsea have been tracking Yeremy Pino and now they are on (Anthony) Gordon.
"Pino is a player they have been watching for a long time. Liverpool have sent scouts to watch Pino many, many times in the past year. Top English clubs have been following him."
Pino possesses a current market value of £36 million. He is contracted until the conclusion of the 2026-27 campaign.
Anfield Watch Verdict
Pino is a fine young player. The winger has scored 14 goals and registered five assists in 78 appearances for Villarreal's first-team.
Pino also averaged a WhoScored player rating of 6.63 across 31 La Liga appearances last season.
However, we don't believe that the 19-year-old should be a priority for Liverpool. The reality is, the Reds possess a number of options in attack (Darwin Nunez, Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota).
We would rather see Liverpool sign a midfielder, as that is an area on the pitch where the club have not improved in recent times.
But, only time will tell if that is to be the case.
