This season he has been unlucky. The number 19 picked up an injury during the international break in September which ruled the midfielder out for a long period of time.

At the age of 21, he won’t want injuries like this to plague his career as it has done for many youngsters before him with such promise.

Elliot brilliance against Southampton

Elliott made his first start in months during the midweek against Southampton in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals.

He capped off this start with a crucial goal which saw Liverpool run out 2-1 winners, he was also given the player of the match award.

But before the match on Wednesday, an emotional video was released by Sky Sports showing Harvey talk about his career so far including comments from people that know him well.

The video was a dedication to his talent and attitude, also celebrating how he was the youngest player ever to make an appearance in the EFL Cup at just 15-years-old.

Elliott makes emotional admission

During the video, Elliott talks about scoring his first ever Premier League goal for Liverpool against Bournemouth in August 2022.

The Reds were rampant that day recording their biggest ever win in the league dispatching Bournemouth 9-0.

However, the midfielder stated that the goal was special for another reason.

In the interview Elliott states, “It was an emotional goal for many reasons, to be honest, with it being my first Premier League goal. The day before, my nan passed away. My mum called me up the morning of the game, telling me that, ‘I have a feeling you're going to score today.”

Watching the goal back, you can see the youngster is overcome with emotion following the goal. It must have been such a proud moment for him and his family.

Elliott now looks to be fully fit again and fans will be so eager to see what he can contribute to the sides accomplishments this season and with squad depth being of incomparable importance, we will be sure to see a lot of him.
