Liverpool have been drawn to face West Ham United in the Carabao Cup quarter-final, after beating Bournemouth 2-1 on Wednesday.

We had to wait for it, but the Carabao Cup quarter-final draw finally happened on Wednesday evening. Liverpool were in the pot after their win over Bournemouth – one that provided plenty of talking points.

And they'll now face West Ham United at Anfield in the quarter-finals. The Hammers made it through after something of a shock win against Arsenal - they beat the Gunners 3-1 after going 3-0 up.

So with Liverpool's new opponents set in stone, here's what you need to know.

When is Liverpool vs West Ham in the Carabao Cup?

The exact matchday isn't confirmed yet but this will take place in the week starting December 18th. Carabao Cup games are usually on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, so we imagine this will be either on the 19th or 20th.

What are Liverpool's recent results against West Ham?

The Reds have a sensational record against West Ham under Jurgen Klopp. He actually struggled at first, failing to win any of his first four meetings with them - but it's been brilliant since then.

Liverpool have won 12 of their last 14 fixtures with West Ham, drawing once and losing once. That sole defeat came in November 2021 - a mad game that the Hammers eventually won 3-2.

The four matches since have all been Liverpool wins, though, including a 3-1 victory in September this season.

Who are now favourites to win the Carabao Cup?

It's got to be Liverpool or Newcastle. Both received difficult quarter-final draws, though - the Magpies will travel to Stamford Bridge.

Of course, we'll back Liverpool as the favourites to win the whole thing. Jurgen Klopp appears to be taking things quite seriously, too, with a very strong XI against Bournemouth. Newcastle, in contrast, rested quite a few players in their 3-0 win over Manchester United - they do have the Champions League to think about, after all.
