Why FSG’s new £300m Liverpool deal will be a HUGE mistake
FSG could make a big mistake over the club's new £300m partnership deal.
There are a lot of things Liverpool's owners have got right since arriving at Anfield.
One cannot deny the exponential growth Liverpool have been on under FSG's leadership in the last decade.
From being on the brink of slipping out relevance to now being one of the major names in world football again.
However, at times FSG's decisions will still raise eyebrows, including the club's latest agreement with Adidas over becoming Liverpool's next kit supplier.

Why Liverpool's new Adidas deal could be a huge mistake
According to the latest reports, Liverpool are on the brink of agreeing a contract worth in excess of £60m with Adidas over the stretch of five years, worth up to £300m in total.
There is no denying this is a significant boost from Liverpool's £30m agreement per every season with Nike.
However, Nike's contract also included 20 per cent royalty payments on net profits. As This is Anfield pointed out based on UEFA figures, this would net Liverpool an estimate of £80m per season, far greater than the £60m upfront fee that Adidas are guaranteeing.
Not to mention it's also a meagre fee considering Manchester United signed a £900m deal with Adidas worth a guaranteed £90m per season only last year [The Independent].

Liverpool sold the most shirts out of any Premier League side last year [ESPN]. The fact that FSG couldn't match United's record deal will be disappointing.
Obviously, we don't quite know the ins and outs of that deal, but based on the surface it does feel slightly underwhelming.
No more LeBron James collaboration
Another major loss from the Nike deal will be the end of Liverpool's collaboration with LeBron James.
The NBA star is a stakeholder in the club and has his own Liverpool fashion line with Nike.
That is undoubtedly also set to come to an end - meaning Liverpool are potentially losing out on even more money and branding opportunities.
Not to mention it's not just the collaboration ending with LeBron but it's also unlikely that the Lakers icon will be able to promote Liverpool's new kits either.

Given he has been a Nike athlete for most of his professional career, there is a strong possibility that LeBron won't be promoting Liverpool's Adidas kits in the future.
So, overall, while behind the scenes this may not be the case but from what we know about the Adidas deal so far, it could be argued FSG are on the brink of making a major mistake.
After all, FSG have failed to agree the same record deal United managed to do even though Liverpool sell more shirts.
Meanwhile, the club has also essentially ended a strong collaboration with one of the most recognisable athletes in the world.
