Liverpool put out a video on Tuesday that showed four players returning to training from injuries. The Reds are nearly back.

Liverpool showed off a mass-return on Tuesday as they welcomed several players back to first-team training. Jurgen Klopp’s side have been missing their stars over the last few weeks.

But it appears the cavalry has arrived. Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Stefan Bajcetic and Diogo Jota were all in training on Tuesday and are nearing returns.

Alisson hasn’t played since the 3-1 defeat to Arsenal on February 2nd, while Alexander-Arnold has been missing since the win over Burnley the following week.  The week after that, Liverpool lost Jota - so it’s been nearly two months without the trio.

Bajcetic has been missing even longer than that. His last appearance was on September 27th where he played just 11 minutes against Leicester City in the EFL Cup. Before that there were 61 minutes against LASK in the Europa League.

But those are the midfielder’s only appearances all season. 72 minutes in total and zero in the Premier League. It’s been a disaster of a season from someone who enjoyed a true breakout campaign last time out.

He’s nearly back, though, along with some of the Reds’ very best players. Not long to wait.

Liverpool welcome stars back from injury

Liverpool are fully into the ‘business end’ of the season as they compete for both the Europa League and Premier League trophies. Competing on two fronts like that is essentially impossible with several key players missing.

Especially when those players are this good. Liverpool have been missing Alisson Becker so much this season that Caoimhin Kelleher has played more often. That’s a lot of games without the world’s best goalkeeper.

Alexander-Arnold is the most creative player at the club but he’s missing some of the biggest games of the campaign. Jota was in electric form before his injury - how Liverpool could have used him at the weekend.

Before long, though, they’ll all be back in the team and Liverpool will be much stronger for it.
