Liverpool legend ready to agree landmark triple deal with Richard Hughes
Liverpool are set to have a major summer spending spree and both the attack and the defence are in need of significant attention.
The Reds have been able to score 109 goals so far this season across all competitions, but a number of players have shown that they simply are not at the level that this football club requires of them.

In particular, Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz have underperformed throughout the campaign and Anfield Watch understands that their futures are going to be assessed before a transfer strategy is decided upon.
Furthermore, while Virgil Van Dijk is expected to sign a contract extension with the Reds, his right-back counterpart Trent Alexander-Arnold is likely to leave the club and spend his future at Real Madrid.
Alongside these developments, Ibrahima Konate has be subject to interest from Paris Saint Germain, Jarrell Quansah has been approached by Newcastle, and one of Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas is likely to depart as the team needs a shakeup in personnel at left-back.
But one of our own is reportedly making decisions that could help out his former club massively in convincing players to leave their clubs and allowing deals to be made at a potential price-cut.
Klopp makes sweeping changes at Leipzig for Liverpool to capitalise on
According to the German sports website FussballTransfers.com, which references a report from SportBild, Leipzig are set to be forced into a clear out of some of their players.
It is understood that Red Bull are reducing their salary budget expectations to €150m euros for the upcoming season, meaning that €20m euros will need to be wiped off the current wage bill.
In addition, a target of €100m euros needs to be generated through transfer fees.
The decision comes from RB Leipzig's parent company, which is headed by former Liverpool manager and club legend Jurgen Klopp whose role is head of global football.
As such, the former Red might inadvertently be advocating for the club to sell a few of their assets to Liverpool, and given the nature of the financial problem, a lower asking price could be offered.
It has been well reported that Liverpool are interested in several of Leipzig's players, including Benjamin Sesko, Xavi Simons and Castello Lukeba.
Each of them are young talented players who would make an enormous difference to Arne Slot's team.
Sesko, for example, would offer a new dynamic as the club's striker, replacing Nunez or Jota in the process, and helping to ease some of the pressure on Salah to deliver every game.
Likewise, Simons could play on either side of the pitch as a winger, or drop slightly deeper to perform as a No.10, allowing Liverpool to field Dominik Szoboszlai in a role he is more comfortable in.
Furthermore, Lukeba has really impressive leadership qualities in defence that would make him a potential long-term replacement for Van Dijk, while also making a compelling case for replacing Konate in the short-term as the Dutchman's centre-back partner.
The report adds that all three players are candidates that could be exiting Leipzig in order to relieve some of the financial pressure on The Red Bulls.
Of course, it is a little ambitious for Liverpool fans to dream of the club undertaking a shopping spree based in Leipzig, but even if only one of the players is to be sacrificed, it would be an opportunity that will have the Reds' recruitment department licking their lips.

Not only would a young talented defender or attacker from Leipzig be a tantalising proposition, but the potential for a deal to be agreed at a reduced price given the club's need to save money will make it all the more likely that Liverpool could have identified a golden chance to solve some of their issues.
