Liverpool fixtures: the Reds' next five games after Brentford win

After two difficult games against Luton Town and Toulouse, Liverpool got back to winning ways this weekend at Anfield.

The Reds beat Brentford 3-0 to move second in the Premier League table, despite Jurgen Klopp having to contend with various midfield absentees and injuries to Ibrahima Konate and Joe Gomez

Mohamed Salah's brace and Diogo Jota's beauty gave Liverpool a much-needed lift, with the Reds now entering the November international break in good spirits.

Hopefully, the international period should offer some of Liverpool's injured personnel recovery time, with Klopp needing as many players as possible at his disposal ahead of the hectic winter fixture list.

While there will be a little wait before the Reds are in action again, here are Liverpool's next five matches in all competitions.

MANCHESTER CITY VS LIVEPOOL - PREMIER LEAGUE

The toughest test Liverpool will face this season comes in the dreaded early kick-off slot after the international break.

As if a trip to Man City isn't hard enough, the Reds will have to compete with the typical late arrivals on Merseyside of their South American contingent, with Alisson, Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez and Alexis Mac Allister all doubtful to feature from the start.

Klopp knows his side will go top with a win, but, let's be honest, a draw would be a magnificent result.

Liverpool lost their trip to the Etihad Stadium last season 4-1 and haven't won a Premier League match there since 2015.

Manchester City vs Liverpool, 12:30 (GMT) - 25/11/2023

LIVERPOOL VS LASK - EUROPA LEAGUE

A game that would have been a dead rubber had Liverpool won in Toulouse last Thursday, the visit of LASK is now far more significant.

The Reds would qualify with a win at Anfield, but, despite Liverpool having won every home game this season, LASK showed in the reverse fixture that they can cause problems.

However, Liverpool still ran out 3-1 winners in Austria back in September, and should wrap up qualification with relative ease.

LIVERPOOL VS FULHAM - PREMIER LEAGUE

Following the clash with LASK, Liverpool will walk out again at Anfield the following Sunday when they host Fulham in the Premier League.

The Cottagers have been hugely underwhelming this season and currently sit in 16th after their 3-1 defeat to Aston Villa at the weekend.

However, while it should be a straightforward afternoon for Liverpool, the Reds only beat Fulham 1-0 at Anfield last term.

SHEFFIELD UNITED VS LIVERPOOL - PREMIER LEAGUE

In one of the first midweek Premier League games of the season, Liverpool travel to struggling Sheffield United just three days after Fulham's trip to Anfield.

The Blades may only have five points this season, but Liverpool's showing at Luton should highlight that this will be far from simple.

The Reds need to address their dire form away from home against relegation candidates, something that proved costly last season.

CRYSTAL PALACE VS LIVERPOOL

A reunion with Roy Hodgson is on the cards after the trip to Bramall Lane - Liverpool's fourth game in ten days.

The Reds will visit Crystal Palace in December on the back of a 13-game unbeaten run against the Eagles, although they only managed draws home and away last season.

The visit to Selhurst Park was a turgid goalless draw, while the home encounter saw Darwin Nunez sent off for a headbutt on Joachim Andersen.

Oh, and it's another early Saturday kick-off.
