Liverpool fixtures: Reds' next five after Chelsea win

Here are the next five Liverpool fixtures after their huge 4-1 win over Chelsea in the Premier League. The Reds are chasing trophies.

Liverpool are flying right now and their latest win felt like a real statement. The Reds hosted a Chelsea side that they've struggled to beat in recent years but put them to the sword.

Diogo Jota, Conor Bradley, Dominik Szoboszlai and Luis Diaz scored the goals in a 4-1 win - a win that keeps them five points clear at the top of the Premier League table. Next up, however, is a chance for an even bigger statement.

Liverpool will take on Arsenal at the Emirates, knowing that they could open up an eight-point gap with the Gunners. The Reds' win there in the FA Cup will breed confidence - let's see if they can repeat.

But that's not the only massive game coming up. Here are the next five Liverpool fixtures across all competitions.

Arsenal vs Liverpool - Premier League

One of the two biggest - and toughest - league fixtures remaining for Liverpool. Should they win, the eight-point gap with Arsenal arguably creates a two-horse title race against Manchester City.

But honestly, fans would be content with a draw here. It's a very difficult game and Mohamed Salah will likely be out. Of course, that was the case with the FA Cup clash last month but Arsenal were in worse form back then.

This will be a major test of the Reds and one that will show everyone just how good they are.

Sunday, 4th February - 16:30 GMT

Liverpool vs Burnley - Premier League

The opposite of the Arsenal clash, in truth. Liverpool will host Burnley in a fixture where anything short of a win will feel like a failure.

If the Reds want to be true title contenders, they've got to win this one. It's a 'momentum' fixture, really - one where it will either continue great momentum or completely end it.

Liverpool will be massive favourites, of course, and everyone should expect a very attacking display.

Brentford vs Liverpool - Premier League

Again, must win. Liverpool know full well what a title race against Manchester City is like and they've found themselves in another one.

Games against midtable and relegation-threatened teams must bring three points and there isn't really room for dropped points. Brentford are currently 15th and while they may waver slightly from that position by the time this fixture comes around, it won't change how Liverpool address it.

Three points are a must.

Saturday, 17th February - 12:30 GMT

Liverpool vs Chelsea - Carabao Cup final

The biggest of the five as Liverpool chase their first silverware of the season. It's a repeat of the 2022 final and Jurgen Klopp will be chasing his second Carabao Cup, having won that 2022 edition.

Naturally, Liverpool will be favourites. Their 4-1 win over Chelsea at Anfield certainly confirms that and a repeat performance guarantees the trophy.

But Reds' fans will be hoping Mohamed Salah is firing on all cylinders by the final. Having him in the team would move everything up another gear and even with the good form in his absence, Liverpool's best chance of winning the trophy comes with their star forward.

Hopefully, just the first crowning moment of Klopp's farewell tour.

Sunday, 25th February - 15:00 GMT

Liverpool vs Watford or Southampton - FA Cup

Liverpool's fifth upcoming fixture is an unusual one - they don't yet know who they're playing or when it takes place. The Reds were drawn against either Watford or Southampton, whose 4th Round clash went to a replay.

This will be a 5th Round fixture, of course, and Liverpool will likely rest a few players in this one. It comes after the Carabao Cup final for one, while it will also be against Championship opposition.

Jurgen Klopp will certainly be grateful for that, even if the Reds will take it as seriously as any other fixture. After all, everyone wants to win as much silverware as possible in the boss's final season.
