Liverpool must act QUICKLY on £50m target as Champions League rival open talks
Liverpool must act quickly to secure the signing of Willian Pacho this summer after Paris Saint-Germain recently opened talks with Eintracht Frankfurt for the centre-back.
The Reds are keen admirers of the Ecuadorian defender, who has starred for Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt during his debut season with the club in 2023/24.
The left-footed 22-year-old made 44 appearances for the Eagles last term, starting all but one of the club's matches in the Bundesliga.
Praised for his athleticism and physical strength, Pacho has naturally caught the eye of Europe's elite sides, with Liverpool one of many clubs interested in pursuing a move for the youngster.
However, they may have now fallen behind PSG in the race for the South American.
PSG OPEN DISCUSSIONS FOR WILLIAN PACHO
According to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, Ligue 1 champions PSG have now opened talks for Pacho and their interest in the defender is described as 'concrete'.
The journalist claims that PSG have informed Eintracht Frankfurt of their desire to sign the Ecuador international, with Pacho himself open to a move to the French capital.
Previous reports have suggested that Pacho would cost around £50m and PSG should have no issues offering that amount of money given their incredible wealth.
If Liverpool's interest in Pacho is significant then they will have to act quickly.
Liverpool have been linked with signing a new central defender this summer after Joel Matip's exit and Pacho fits the bill when it comes to what the Reds are searching for in the market.
The Independent stated last week that Liverpool's transfer business is expected to accelerate in the coming days, claiming that they're readying 'concrete bids' for their targets.
The Reds are the only Premier League side yet to add to their first-team squad over the summer but new head coach Arne Slot has admitted that he would be surprised if the club didn't sign any new players before the deadline.
