Unbelievable Jurgen Klopp record may never be beaten after Tottenham victory

Jurgen Klopp's time at Liverpool may be coming to an end, but his exit means that he holds a Premier League record that may never be topped.

The German announced he was leaving Liverpool at the beginning of 2024 and he has since guided the Reds to the Carabao Cup and Champions League qualification.

Feyenoord boss Arne Slot will almost certainly be the 56-year-old's replacement this summer, with a formal announcement of his appointment expected in the coming weeks.

However, the Dutch coach has his work cut out to match Klopp's record at Anfield and following the former Borussia Dortmund manager is no easy task.

In fact, Klopp's brilliance was further exemplified by Liverpool's 4-2 win over Tottenham on Sunday, ensuring a remarkable record stays intact.

JURGEN KLOPP'S INCREDIBLE PREMIER LEAGUE RECORD

According to Opta's Michael Reid, now that Liverpool have avoided defeat to Tottenham, Klopp is guaranteed to finish his Premier League career without ever having been beaten by the same side twice in a single league campaign.

Tottenham beat Liverpool 2-1 earlier in the season and were the last side capable of ending Klopp's incredible streak. The Reds still have to play Midlands duo Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers in their final two games of the season, but they beat both sides earlier in the term.

That means that, once the season comes to a close, Klopp will have managed 334 Premier League games without any team doing the double over Liverpool in a season - a Premier League record by quite some distance.

Given the next closest manager to Klopp in the rankings is, rather surprisingly, former Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with 127 matches, it appears unlikely that Klopp's record will be beaten soon - or perhaps ever.

It's a quite ridiculous achievement from the Liverpool boss, who arrived at the club in 2015, especially considering that he has had to fight with Pep Guardiola's Manchester City team during his time at Anfield.

Klopp also boasts the best win percentage (62.17%) of any manager to have taken charge of 50+ games for the Reds and he will forever go down in history as one of Liverpool's, and the Premier League's, all-time greats.
