Within days Real Madrid, who are hot in their pursuit for the right-back, will be able to negotiate with Alexander-Arnold's camp over a free transfer.

And it seems the Spanish giants are confident in being able to lure Alexander-Arnold away from his boyhood club.

Trent Alexander-Arnold's farewell plans revealed

A report from Relevo in Spain has claimed that Real Madrid are now very confident they will be able to convince Alexander-Arnold to join the club.

The report goes onto say that Liverpool have not given up their efforts just yet but that Alexander-Arnold continues to reject the Reds' offers.

In the report, there is an interesting claim made about how Trent Alexander-Arnold dreams of saying goodbye to his team 'in style' and wants to give the fans a proper farewell.

Having spent so much time at the club, saying goodbye will clearly be an emotional one for Alexander-Arnold and he wants to do it right.

There are no details about what the farewell plans are but the fact that this report purports to claim that Alexander-Arnold is already making plans about how he is going to say goodbye to Liverpool definitely doesn't sound positive.

Obviously, we have to take everything with a pinch of salt and it's important to factor in that Alexander-Arnold could also have a change of mind.

However, if Liverpool were to lose the right-back on a free to Real Madrid it would be a bitterly disappointing one for the Reds.

He has been labelled as a future captain and someone who would be a mainstay in the team for years to come - following in the footsteps of Steven Gerrard.

But now Liverpool are about to lose one of their own in his prime years.
