Liverpool will field an unchanged team for their Anfield clash against Nottingham Forest.

The Reds will stick to the team that beat rivals Manchester United 3-0 at Old Trafford before the international break.

Alisson starts in goal, with a back four of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson.

Alexis Mac Allister starts in the midfield despite injury issues whilst on international duty with Argentina and Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai retain their places alongside him.

Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz both start after scoring for their nations during the international break and Diogo Jota finishes off the starting XI.

Liverpool's bench

Liverpool's bench are where the main talking points can be found. Curtis Jones returns to the Liverpool squad following an injury and could get his first Premier League minutes today.

Kelleher, Gomez, Endo, Nunez, Gakpo, Tsimikas, Quansah and Bradley make up the rest of the bench and there is one notable exception.

Federico Chiesa has once again missed out on Liverpool's matchday squad.

The Italian was signed from Juventus for roughly £12 million this summer and is yet to make his debut for the Reds. He has been working on building up fitness over the international break but has once again missed out on Liverpool's squad. That's despite him training during the week and being expected to feature in some way this weekend.

The 26-year-old only joined Liverpool late in the window and missed the team's pre-season.

Chiesa was named in Liverpool's Champions League squad and could make his debut this Tuesday when Liverpool take on AC Milan at the San Siro.

Liverpool squad in full:

Liverpool: Alisson, Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Luis Diaz, Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota, Andy Robertson, Ryan Gravenberch, Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Subs: Caoimhin Kelleher, Joe Gomez, Wataru Endo, Darwin Nunez, Curtis Jones, Cody Gakpo, Kostas Tsimikas, Jarell Quansah, Conor Bradley.
