Here’s our Liverpool FC news roundup for Saturday, 13th April. The club had a meeting with supporters over controversial ticket prices.

The big news for Liverpool on Saturday didn't involve anything on the pitch - it came from a supporters meeting over ticket prices. The club decided to raise them by 2% next season and controversially so.

The fallout from that meeting was interesting, to say the least.

There's also Ruben Amorim news, as always, as well as some interesting transfer targets. Here's our Liverpool FC news roundup.

Supporters meeting over tickets

The news coming out of the Liverpool FC Supporters Board meeting is that the club refuses to reverse the controversial ticket price rise. Here’s all the reaction.

Liverpool drove a wedge between the club and various supporter groups recently with the decision to raise ticket prices by 2%. The backlash was enough that no flags featured on the Kop against Atalanta on Thursday - a controversial protest for some.

The club met with the Supporters Board on Saturday to discuss the plan and released the following statement on ticket prices afterwards:

"Today, representatives from LFC and the Supporters Board met to discuss engagement processes and the recent two per cent ticket price rise announced for general admission and matchday tickets."

Amorim comments on Sporting

Sporting CP boss Ruben Amorim raised some eyebrows this week as the Liverpool target talked about continuing a ‘cycle’ in Portugal.

Ruben Amorim saw his Sporting CP move closer to a second Liga Portugal title with a 4-0 win over Gil Vicente on Friday. That's now five wins on the bounce in the league and a seven-point lead over Benfica with six games to play.

Amorim, of course, is the favourite to take over at Liverpool when Jurgen Klopp steps down at the end of the season. But he raised eyebrows after his latest win by talking about the 'cycle' not being over at Sporting.

Fabio Carvalho scored again for Hull City on Saturday, bagging the second to put them 2-0 up against Queen's Park Rangers. With that, he extends a fantastic record in the Championship as of late.

The goal was a fine one, with the Portuguese playmaker making a deep run in behind the QPR defence to get on the end of a through-ball. The Liverpool loanee then swept it home emphatically for 2-0.

Carvalho now has eight goals in 16 appearances for Hull, but his recent run is even better. After all, it took him a few games to find his feet.

Reds eye Leverkusen stars

Liverpool still hope to sign two of Xabi Alonso’s players at Bayer Leverkusen, even after he rejected the chance to be their new manager.

Football Transfers claims Liverpool still have eyes on two Bayer Leverkusen stars. Links to the pair have existed for a little while but it felt natural for them to fade once Xabi Alonso rejected the Reds' manager job.

After all, signing players from Leverkusen made absolute sense if the Spaniard was taking over. Even with him off the table, though, it appears Liverpool want to bring in a couple.
