Giorgi Mamardashvili was signed this summer after his brilliant performances at Euro 2024 and he is regarded as the ideal successor to Alisson's throne.

But he is not alone. There's an exciting young talent catching the eye in the club's academy who will also be ready to replace Alisson in the future if he continues his development and performances.

Why Kornel Misciur will be ready to replace Alisson

One of the biggest talents in Liverpool's academy right now is the club's 17-year-old goalkeeper Kornel Misciur.

Despite, his young age he is already playing at U21 level and has even been involved in the first team squad's game against Brighton in the League Cup earlier in the campaign.

Misciur has been putting in some great performances for the club's U21 side having been tested a lot this season as the young Reds have struggled to get points on the board.

But he has stepped up the challenge often, making impressive and crucial saves in order to save Liverpool from conceding further goals.

At such a young age, he already has a very commanding presence in between the sticks and he's got a brilliant physique and height for a goalkeeper.

At the same time, he's also very comfortable on the ball. He's someone who loves to involve himself in the build up play.

Out of goalkeepers in the Premier League 2, Misciur averages the third most forward passes this season (19.77 per 90).

Those are Alisson esque numbers and the natural next step for the youngster might just be to join the Brazilian in the first team.

Vitezslav Jaros has an expiring contract at the end of this season. He is currently the club's third choice goalkeeper.

It would make sense for Liverpool to promote Misciur as the third choice option next season rather than to sign a third choice keeper, who will likely not play a lot of minutes.

There's a reason why Misciur is wanted by both Poland and England at international level, he's a special talent.

Bringing him into the first team will help to continue his development and learn from the best so that within time he will be ready to replace Alisson in the future.
